PEAR OATMEAL CRISP

Pam Williams

Heat oven 350˚. If using fresh pears, peel, halve, and core, placing pear haves in 11X7 pan cut side up. Takes 4-6 pears. If using canned or home bottled pears, drain large can or 1 qt, reserving syrup. Combine 2/3 C flour, 2 C oatmeal, 1 C brown sugar, 1/4 t salt, 1 t cinnamon. For juicier dessert, add reserved pear juice before baking, 1/2 to 1 C. Spoon over pear halves. Cut 1/2 C [1 cube] butter or margarine into 15 slices, arrange evenly on top. Bake 45 min. Serve warm with ice cream or cold with whipped cream. Print Recipe
