Caramels in the Microwave

Helen Manning

½ c. white butter

½ c. white corn syrup

½ c. white sugar

½ c. brown sugar

½ c. sweetened condensed milk

½ c. pecans, chopped (optional)

Melt butter; add syrup, sugars and milk.

Microwave in safe dish for 6 to 8 minutes. I do it for 7

Pour mixture into a well sprayed 8X8 glass pan and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Loosen around the edges and tip out onto your cutting board. If it is too firm to cut you can microwave for 30 seconds at t time until you reach desires consistency. Caramels can be dipped in melted chocolate or individually wrapped in wax paper, twisting the ends. Print Recipe
