Meatball Subs

Tina Heil

1 Lb. Ground beef

1 Egg

1 Cup Crushed Saltines

1/2 Tbs Dried Parsley Flakes

1 Tsp finally chopped or onion flakes

1/2 Tsp Salt

1/4 Tsp garlic

1/4 Tsp Dry Mustard

1/4 Tsp Pepper

1/8 cup water

Mozzarella slices

1 - 1.5 Cups of your favorite spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce

Hoagie buns for your crowd

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine all ingredients (minus the sauce and buns) in a bowl or food processor until well blended. Roll into approximately 40-45 one inch meatballs. Place the meatballs on ungreased baking pans lined with foil. Bake 8-10 minutes. While those are in the oven, warm up your spaghetti/pizza sauce in a covered pot. Next split open the hoagies and brush the inside of the hoagie with butter or olive oil. When your meatballs are cooked through and are no longer pink inside take them out of the oven. Change the oven setting to broil and put the buns in the oven on the top rack. Keep a close eye on it can burn quickly. You may want to put a slice of mozzarella on each bun and the broiler will melt the cheese. Open the bun and fill it with meat balls and sauce and there you have it! Print Recipe
